Low-battery alerts & battery monitoring

FAQ – Low battery & battery levels

Q1. Where do I see low-battery warnings for my call units?
Low-battery alerts are shown in your Arquella Connect dashboard, not on the engineers app or the nurse call panel screen itself (you’ll still see the red LED on the unit when it’s low or green LED when it’s charged).

Q2. A unit shows “low battery” in Connect, but the LED is green. Is it actually low?
A green LED on the unit means the battery is currently OK. Connect may still be showing an old low-battery alert if:
The unit was low previously and has since been charged, but
The system hasn’t yet received the “charged” signal.
This is usually cleared when the unit is charged and then attendance/reset is pressed OR within 24 hours.

Q3. How do we clear a low-battery alert after charging a unit?
Put the unit on charge until the LED is solid green.
Take the unit off charge and press attendance/reset on the unit.

Q4. Why do some units seem to stay on “low battery” for weeks or months?
This can happen if:
The unit was repeatedly charged but the system never received the “charged” signal (for example, due to an older panel software version), or
The unit wasn’t fully charged before going back into use, so it quickly dropped below the threshold again.

We’ve improved the way we handle low-battery clearing in recent updates, but if you’re seeing persistent alerts after following the charging steps, contact Customer Support and we’ll investigate.

Q5. Can we see the exact battery percentage for each device?
No. The system uses “healthy” vs “low” states rather than a percentage. When the charge drops near the threshold, the system sends a low-battery alert; once it’s fully charged and reset, it returns to healthy.
